Poor Response Times on Helix and Biowulf (Helix)

Helix & Biowulf Users -- During the past two weeks, both Helix and the Biowulf Login node have experienced numerous load spikes during the day which have resulted in poor response times or outright hangs for even simple commands. The Helix/Biowulf staff is actively engaged in trying to determine the cause and develop a solution to this problem.
