Sciware is a Helix Systems service that provides scientific applications that run on your Windows, Mac OS X or RedHat Linux system. You can think of Sciware as a remote disk drive that is mapped to your desktop computer over the network. To connect to Sciware, all you need is your Helix userid and password. Once connected, Sciware applications can be run just as you would run any other software on your Windows, Mac OS X or RedHat Linux system. Sciware's scientific applications are maintained by the Helix systems staff so you don't need to worry about installing or maintaining them. Sciware includes popular commercial applications like MATLAB, Mathematica and IDL, as well as public domain applications such as ImageJ, BioDesigner, Clustalx, VMD, and Gimp.
