Interactive batch sessions on Biowulf cluster (Biowulf)
Date: 12 November 2008 09:11:18From: steven fellini (sfellini@NIH.GOV)
This email is for users of the NIH Biowulf cluster who allocate nodes for interactive sessions using the "qsub -I" command. Effective immediately, a wallclock time limit of 24 hours will be placed on sessions which allocate nodes with a "node specification". For example, the following command uses a node specification which will allocate an 8 GB node for exclusive use: qsub -l nodes=1:m8192 -I This interactive session will have a wallclock limit placed on it of 24 hours, after which it will be terminated by the system. The following command does not include a node specification: qsub -l nodes=1 -I As before, this interactive session will be run on a shared node without a wallclock limit. Users are still encouraged to exit from sessions once they have finished with them. Please send questions or comments to staff@biowulf.nih.gov.
