Octave is now available on Biowulf (Biowulf)

GNU Octave is a high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. Octave will run many (but not all) Matlab scripts, including MEX files. Octave runs are typically slower than the equivalent Matlab run. However, Octave is not license-limited, so projects which involve large numbers of simultaneous independent runs may benefit from using Octave. For more information and examples of Octave use on Biowulf, see http://biowulf.nih.gov/apps/octave.html
