Under the Start menu, select All Programs / Windows Live Mail

Your first invocation will cause a wizard to run. Navigate as follows:

• Add your email accounts
  • Fill in your Helix email address
  • Uncheck the Remember this password checkbox
  • Fill in your real name for Display name for your sent messages
  • Check the Manually configure server settings checkbox on
  • Click the Next button
• Configure server settings
  • Server type: IMAP
  • Server address: helix.nih.gov
  • Check the Requires a secure connection (SSL) checkbox on
    The port number changes from 143 to 993
  • Outgoing server information:
    • Server address: mailfwd.nih.gov
  • Click the Next button
• Click the Finish button

Skip the initial login and folder download if possible.

In the left panel, right-click the helix account and select Properties

• Select the General tab if you're not there already
  • Edit the Mail Account name if you'd like
• Select the IMAP tab
  • Root folder path: mail/                      Important!
  • If logged in, Refresh folder list and click Apply button
• Select the Advanced tab
  • Slide the Server Timeouts value from 1 minute to 2 minutes
• Click the OK button
